New project, get involved!

Are you or do you know a girl/young woman aged 16-25? This is your chance to get involved in a new photography/documentary project which focuses on young women who have been brought up in close connection with the natural world. Maybe you live on a small island or a mountain town somewhere up North.

‘Font and flavour’ celebrates Nordic Bakery’s 10 year anniversary. The book launch took place the 4th of May in Covent Garden in London. ‘Font and flavour’ is published by New Heroes & Pioneers.  

Aino/Kaiku photo series

‘Talviuni‘ (Hibernation) the second short film from the Kaiku Series is now available to watch online. The film premiered at the Festival International du Film Insulaire in August in Groix, France. Watch the film.

FIFIG 2016 exhibition

 

The Kaiku Project was part of Festival International du Film Insulaire which took place 18-22 August in Ile de Groix, France. The second short film ‘Talviuni’ premiered at the festival. A special edition of the Kaiku book artwork was also created for the festival.

The first short film from the Kaiku Series ‘The Old Woman’ will be part of the Kamwa Festival 5th – 7th August in Perm, Russia.

Finno-Ugric Film Festival

The first short film from the Kaiku Series ‘The Old Woman‘ was shown at the Finno-Ugric Film Festival in Tsiistre, Estonia 8-11.2016. The festival was held for the third time and film-makers and volunteers from 25 different nationalities took part in the festival – ranging from the Mari people in Bashkiria to French and Dutch in the heart of Europe. The Kaiku Project was funded by Kulturkontakt Nord Mobility Grant program.

Misadventures Magazine article series - Part 2

The second article in the four-part series written for Misadventures Magazine is out now. The series documents the work behind the Kaiku Project. The article focuses on filming the second short film ‘Talviuni‘ (Hibernation) for the Kaiku Series. Read the article here.
